Cast Biographies

Eurydice

Claire Allen is a junior at Skyridge High School. She has done theatre for seven years. Some of Claire’s favorite productions she has been in are Les Misérables, as Eponine, The Little Mermaid, as Attina, and Bye Bye Birdy as Mae Peterson. Hadestown has pushed Claire to get out of her comfort zone and she is so grateful. Eurydice is a character that Claire will always feel connected to, even after the show closes. She is forever grateful for her directors, cast, and Skyridge Theatre as a whole to let her have the opportunity to be a part of this amazing show.

Persephone

AnnaBelle Taylor is a junior at Skyridge and has loved theater her whole life. While it’s just her second show at Skyridge, no show has ever touched her heart more than Hadestown! Persephone has taught her so much and has pushed her as an actress. She can’t wait to see what the rest of her time at Skyridge brings her!

Hermes

Anna has been doing theatre for 7 years and has absolutely loved every second of it. She has been in many productions at skyridge including little women, Frozen, Footloose, and King Arthur. Her favorite role including Marmee in skyridge production of Little women. Playing Hermes has been an absolute dream for Anna and she truly could not be more thankful for the growth it has brought her as an actress. She wants to thank her mom for sticking with her throughout her journey.

Orpheus

Daxter has been doing theatre for 5 years and is so excited to be playing the role of Orpheus. He loves dancing, singing, acting and everything about music. When he’s not on stage, he enjoys cooking and playing the guitar. He’s grateful for the wonderful friends he’s made and the growth he’s gained from being a part of Skyridge Theatre. He hopes to someday be a mechanical engineer or architect.

Hades

Alex Hsiao is a senior at Skyridge Highschool and is honored to perform in the such a magical program. He has performed in the ensembles for Footloose, Frozen, King Arthur and Beauty and the Beast. His original draft of this thing thanking everyone who made this show possible was too long for the character limit, so he would like to say that everyone listed in this program has poured hours of their time and gallons of their souls into this project and deserve to be praised and recognized. Every one of them. He would like to thank his family, friends and the alumni for inspiring him.

Clotho (Fate 1)

Allie Brown is a Junior at Skyridge who is ecstatic to be playing one of her dream roles! When she’s not on stage, she’s probably in the gym getting ripped. Some of her favorite roles she has played are Will Gamwell in “Robin Hood” and Annie in “Annie.” She has also enjoyed being in other various Skyridge musicals and Shakespeare teams. Allie is so excited for you to see the magic of Hadestown!

Fate 2

Abby is a senior and is so excited to be performing in one of if not her favorite musical. This is her 6th year doing theatre and choir. She is currently serving as Artisan on Theatre Council and is loving it. Theatre has taught her a lot and she is planning to continue singing as she attends college at U of U. Abby is playing the Aunt in Edith Strong this spring and encourages everyone to come see a Chip Brown Original Play™ because he’s actually cracked and a musical genius.

Fate 3

Aspen is delighted to take the stage in her dream role as Atropos in Hadestown, where she brings to life one of the mysterious Fates who weave the threads of destiny. Her love for theatre has already led her through several memorable productions, including ensemble roles in the magical world of Frozen, the heartwarming tradition of Fiddler on the Roof, and the high-energy Footloose. Aspen would like to give a special thanks to her crazy theatre friends, our fearless leader John Brown, and her supportive family. Enjoy the show!

Understudy (Eurydice, Persephone, Hermes & Fates)

Bailey has been obsessed with Hadestown since the concept album, and she’s totally stoked and honored to be trusted as an understudy for all the girls. It’s been stressful and overwhelming for her, but she’s had so much fun. You might recognize her as Silly Girl #1 in Beauty and the Beast and she is excited for you to experience this show.

Understudy (Orpheus)

Jack is a Senior at Skyridge, and has been in theatre for 5+ years. Some of his favorite past roles include Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Percival in King Arthur, and most recently, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. He is so grateful to be a part of this amazing show, and for his best friends he gets to act with. He is beyond excited to be the understudy to his dream role, and he hopes you enjoy the show!

Understudy (Hades)

Noah can’t believe that this is his last big production with Skyridge Theatre. Hadestown has had such a big impact on Noah’s love for theatre since his freshman year, and he is beyond grateful to be performing it as his last big stage musical. He’s had an amazing time with this incredible cast putting everything together, and hopes that you fall in love with this show as much as he did.

Director’s Note

A little while ago, I came across the phrase “defiant optimism.” Those two words—seemingly at odds with each other—resonated with me in a powerful way. At the time, I was deep in preparation for Hadestown, and when I read that phrase, I felt I had found the perfect expression for what this show meant to me.

“To know how it ends / and still begin to sing it again” are lines that capture a central theme of Hadestown: that there is beauty in boldly engaging fully with a story we know will almost certainly end in tragedy.

From the very beginning, we are told that the story of Orpheus and Eurydice is a sad one. It has been retold for ages, yet each time, we hold onto the hope that this time, things might turn out differently. When we hear the words “It’s an old song / It’s a sad song,” we are reminded that struggle, heartbreak, and challenges are part of an eternal cycle. And yet, despite knowing this, the characters keep trying. They repeat the same stories, driven by the belief that maybe—just maybe—things can change if they only begin again.

Hadestown is more than just a retelling of an ancient myth. It is a story of humanity’s resilience—a tribute to the part of us that dares to believe, to persevere, and to create meaning, even in a world where happy endings aren’t guaranteed. For my students, this message has been more than just a theme in a script—it has been an opportunity to reflect on their own journeys, their own struggles, and their own capacity for hope.

I am honored to be a part of this production at Skyridge High School and blessed to work with such talented, kind, and dedicated students. Thank you for being here, and I hope you enjoy the show

Story

The Story of Hadestown: Teen Edition

In a world of hardship and changing seasons, Orpheus, a young poet with a gift for music, meets Eurydice, a restless young woman searching for a better life. While Orpheus dreams of a song to bring warmth and light to a weary world, Eurydice longs for stability and security.

Deep underground lies Hadestown, an industrial empire ruled by the mighty Hades and his conflicted queen, Persephone. When Eurydice is drawn into Hadestown’s promise, Orpheus embarks on a daring journey to bring her back. Along the way, he faces the Fates, the Workers, and the power of doubt itself.

With nothing but his music and his love, Orpheus must prove that hope can endure, even in the darkest places. Hadestown is a story of love, sacrifice, and the power of song, reminding us that some stories are worth telling again and again.
